Ardencote Hotel & Spa is looking for an experienced and passionate Bars Manager to lead our bar operations and deliver exceptional guest experiences across our award-winning hospitality destination. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic hospitality professional who combines strong commercial awareness with outstanding leadership skills.

You'll be responsible for managing all bar operations, driving revenue growth, maintaining exceptional service standards, and developing a high-performing team that consistently exceeds guest expectations. As a key member of the Food & Beverage leadership team, you'll play an important role in enhancing our guest offering while contributing to the overall success and profitability of the business.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading Bar Operations
    • Overseeing the day-to-day management of all bar operations
    • Ensuring exceptional service standards are consistently delivered
    • Coordinating staffing levels, rotas and resources in line with business demands
    • Maintaining operational excellence through effective procedures and quality standards
    • Supporting wider Food & Beverage operations as required
    • Taking responsibility for Duty Management shifts and provide support across departments
  • Driving Commercial Success
    • Delivering and exceeding monthly sales targets and departmental KPIs
    • Managing budgets, wage costs and profitability across the Bars operation
    • Analysing sales performance and identify opportunities to increase revenue
    • Overseeing beverage purchasing, stock control and inventory management
    • Conducting monthly stock takes and minimise waste through effective controls
    • Developing seasonal drinks menus, promotions and pricing strategies to maximise profitability
    • Creating memorable guest experiences through exceptional service and attention to detail
    • Leading by example and inspire teams to deliver outstanding hospitality
    • Monitoring guest satisfaction and proactively address feedback
    • Resolving guest concerns professionally and effectively
    • Ensuring presentation and service standards consistently reflect the Ardencote brand
  • Developing High-Performing Teams
    • Leading recruitment, onboarding and training of bar team members
    • Coaching, motivating and developing Assistant Bar Managers, Supervisors and team members
    • Conducting performance reviews and identify development opportunities
    • Fostering a positive, professional and engaging working environment
    • Working closely with The People Team and the Head of Food & Beverage on staffing, performance and employee relations matters
  • Maintaining Compliance & Standards
    • Ensuring full compliance with licensing laws, food hygiene standards and health & safety legislation
    • Maintaining accurate training records, risk assessments and COSHH documentation
    • Ensuring all team members complete mandatory compliance training
    • Promoting a safe, secure and well-maintained working environment
    • Monitoring equipment and facilities, ensuring any issues are promptly addressed

About You

We're looking for a passionate and experienced leader who brings:

  • Previous management experience within bars, restaurants, hotels or hospitality venues
  • Excellent leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and develop teams
  • Excellent commercial awareness and experience managing budgets, stock and labour costs
  • Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of licensing legislation, food hygiene and health & safety requirements
  • Confidence working in a fast-paced hospitality environment
  • Experience in hands-on leadership style with a commitment to excellence

Additional Information

  • Full-time - Working 45 hours per week
  • Working 5 out of 7 days a week
  • Shift Pattern: As required
  • Full flexibility is key as you will be expected to work as and when necessary to meet the needs of the team and the business
