Automotive Project Manager – Lead Exciting Global Projects
Arden White seeks an experienced Automotive Project / Program Manager to spearhead cutting-edge global automotive and motorsport projects for our esteemed client. We want to hear from you if you\’re passionate about driving innovation, managing cross-functional teams, and delivering exceptional results!
Key Responsibilities:
- Quote Creation: Develop precise and competitive quotes for prototype and production processes, setting the foundation for successful projects.
- Feasibility & Risk Management: Lead team feasibility commitments and conduct comprehensive risk assessments to ensure smooth project execution.
- Budget & Timeline Management: Oversee program budgets and timelines with precision, ensuring all milestones are met on schedule.
- Design Input: Provide ongoing design feedback to ensure manufacturability and alignment with customer specifications.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Manage internal and external program testing to guarantee top-tier quality standards.
- Tooling & Equipment Oversight: Oversee the approval and kick-off of new or modified tooling, gauges, and equipment.
- Sourcing & Negotiations: Participate in sourcing and contract negotiations for assembly and tooling, ensuring optimal terms.
- Packaging Development: Authorize and arrange packaging development to enhance product presentation and branding.
- Program Milestones & Reviews: Conduct regular program milestone reviews, ensuring timeline adherence and process sign-offs.
- Quality Compliance: Collaborate with the Quality Department to oversee PPAP preparation and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Engineering Changes: Coordinate all new program releases and engineering changes, driving continuous improvement.
- Containment & Audits: Implement containment measures for new processes/parts and complete production Layer Process Audits.
- Design Review: Utilize DFMEA, PMFEA, DVP&R, FEA, and other processes to drive robust design reviews.
- Cost-Saving Initiatives: Actively engage in Value Added/Value Engineering (VA/VE) activities to optimize cost efficiency.
- Deliverables Accountability: Maintain accountability for all project deliverables, ensuring high standards are consistently met.
Requirements:
- Educational Background: Engineering degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in automotive manufacturing program management, with a proven track record of success.
- Technical Expertise: Ability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings and Standards; GD&T knowledge is a plus.
- Industry Standards: Strong understanding of IATF16949 standards and best practices in automotive manufacturing.
