Arden White Aerospace and Aviation Recruitment is seeking a highly qualified Head of Maintenance for a prestigious Rotary Operator based in South London. This UK CAA Nominated Post Holder position is crucial for providing leadership in all maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management: Oversee Base Managers, supporting them in leading, motivating, and managing their teams effectively. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Maintenance Planning: Prioritise tasks and drive continuous improvement in quality, efficiency, and productivity through Maintenance Planning and Logistics teams. Ensure that maintenance schedules are adhered to and that all activities are performed to the highest standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the Maintenance Repair Organization (MRO) complies with all applicable aviation regulations at all times. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and implement necessary adjustments.
- Documentation Management: Own and manage the Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE), including all relevant mandatory and supporting procedures and documentation. Ensure that all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and readily accessible.
- Resource Management: Maintain an active maintenance man-hour plan, ensuring the MRO has sufficient competent staff to plan, perform, supervise, inspect, and quality monitor the MRO in accordance with all applicable Aviation Regulatory Approvals. Ensure that the MRO has the necessary equipment and tools to perform the approved scope of work.
- Safety Management: Support the Company Safety Management System (SMS) by reporting any condition of the aircraft or component that has resulted, or may result, in an unsafe condition that hazards flight safety. Perform and document risk assessments where necessary, applying effective controls and mitigation measures.
Person Specification:
- Regulatory Responsibility: Ability to hold the Regulatory Nominated Person responsibility for Part 145.
- Licensing and Experience: Background as a Part 66 B1.3, B2 Cat C rotary wing licensed aircraft engineer with demonstrable progression through leadership roles. Experience in a Part 145 MRO environment, likely as a Shift Manager, Base Maintenance Manager, or Head of Maintenance.
- Knowledge: Expert knowledge of Rotary Wing Aircraft Maintenance Management principles and practices. Practical application-level knowledge of ISO 9001 in the MRO environment and Safety Management System principles and requirements.
- People Management: Demonstrable experience in people and cultural change management. Proven ability to nurture, mentor, guide, and influence personnel effectively.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting across all boundaries, internal and external. Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely.
