This amazing long-term contract role for a good Electrical Inspector is a unique opportunity to showcase your expertise and skills with a world leading motorsport business in Northamptonshire. You will be a key member within the team and the person that secures this position will be crucial to the success of this dynamic company on its F1 and advanced engineering projects. The role is based 100% on site in Brixworth Northamptonshire.
Purpose of the role is to support manufacturing on all Inspection tasks related to internally manufactured parts. Therefore, we need you to:
- Have experience of inspection within a low volume high value precision Inspection environment.
- Be skilled at electrical testing & measurement Inspection tasks.
- Demonstrate knowledge of confirming the quality of components within the required timescales to the required Inspection standards, making use of electrical test equipment, first principle Inspection techniques and automated / mechanical measurement / test equipment using CAD models when appropriate.
- Create measurement strategies to measure complex components or materials.
- Able to understand GD&T and other quality standards/processes in accordance to ISO, DIN, IPC, ANSI, JIT, BSI, SOP’s, HPP Mod logs and actual PCB schematics.
- Adhere to, create and maintain standard operating procedures for processes and other operations (SAP etc.).
- Able to be qualified to inspect PCBs, loom and harnesses to the IPC 610/620 electrical standards.
- Handle and inspect ESS Batteries and have some understanding of cell technology and voltage measurements.
- Understand electrical components such as diodes, capacitors, soldering process etc.
- Use computed tomography (CT) to confirm the quality of sealed electrical components.
- Liaise with other departments (e.g. Quality, Product engineering, PM) to ensure the development of the measurement strategies are optimised.
- Contribute to Continuous Improvement activities.
Hold these qualifications:
- Electro / Mechanical Apprenticeship and/or Mechanical / Electrical NVQ.
- Metrology courses such as NPL Level 1, 2 and 3.
- Intermediate CMM training course.
- IPC620 / IPC610.
Be able to work together with other team members to deliver the right quality on time. Success in this role will be if you:
- Protect the PU with no escapes through poor Inspection execution.
- Be flexible & adaptable with good time management.
- Be thorough and meticulous in approach to tasks.
- Be self-motivated and action oriented.
- Ensure on time delivery to the right quality.
