At the forefront of a once-in-a-generation opportunity as the automotive industry transitions from internal combustion to electric and hybrid, our experienced and dedicated teams are using the latest cutting-edge technology to achieve this transition.

About the role

Reporting to the Inspection Manager, you will inspect components to drawing specifications and, where required, complete inspection and first article reports. You will require an understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerances in order to carry out manual inspection, as well as using Mitutoyo / Zeiss CMMs, Contour Trace, Surftest, and 1st principle techniques, ensuring you adhere to the company’s quality standards. Your responsibilities will include verifying documentation, ensuring drawings, parts and documentation are all in order at both the commencement of your operation and upon completion of your operation. The role will involve liaising with engineering and manufacturing personnel regarding drawing interpretation and results.

About You

Ideally, you will have had inspection experience in engineering and preferably will have undertaken an engineering apprenticeship. Knowledge of motorsport, aerospace or gear manufacturing is preferential. CMM experience is essential; however, previous use of Mitutoyo CNC CMM would be advantageous. The successful candidate may have experience of working in an environment of first offs, batch and final inspections. The ability to converse with engineering staff on drawing interpretation and results is vital, along with being able to appreciate customers’ high requirements and short lead times. To be able to produce well written and concise records and work on your own initiative without supervision is a critical skill the successful candidate will have.

Applications: Please apply with updated CV and details of current rate/salary and notice period. If you are shortlisted, you will be contacted prior to submission. However, please contact Michael Sorfleet by email if you have any questions. Please note, these positions cannot support sponsorship.
