About the Opportunity:
- The Peer Mentor Lead will devote appropriate time to planning, preparing, and overseeing the Peer Mentor programme's successful implementation and operation.
- They will serve in an administrative capacity by supervising and supporting the peer mentors.
- They will be in direct communication with Student Peer Mentors, providing guidance and support.
- They serve as a positive role model and demonstrate integrity, moral character, and strong leadership.
- The role will involve assisting in achieving retention goals, monitoring engagement, and coordinating activities.
- The Peer Mentor Lead will collaborate closely with Academic Persistence Programme staff and will serve as a student advocate, coordinating academic staff and student relationships, and maintaining a thorough understanding of university policies and best practices.
- The role involves tracking and analysing student data and preparing reports.
- The Peer Mentor Lead will also be part of a proactive team, responding to queries and providing expert advice, contributing to a positive student experience by providing clear information and referring students to specialist teams.
- They will ensure timely processing of queries and follow-up to address student needs.
- They will provide support to students via phone, email, live chat, and messenger, offering appropriate solutions.
- The successful candidate will demonstrate patience, empathy, and expertise in university processes to effectively address student concerns and ensure a proactive and accurate response.
About You:
- We’re looking for an enthusiastic, proactive, and detail-oriented individual who is committed to making a positive impact on students' academic journeys.
- A strong passion for student success and higher education.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to thrive in fast-paced environments.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in event coordination or student support is beneficial.
- Previous experience supporting students, handling complaints, and using CRMs or student records systems is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of data protection principles and student development theory is advantageous.
