The Cyber Security Infrastructure Engineer sits within the Information Security Team as part of the wider IT Department. This team ensures that the security of all Arden information is world class and enables projects to be delivered with the right solutions so that employees and students can work effectively.
Our IT team is made up of around 60 employees with skills spanning Software Development, IT Operations, and IT Security. We value employee development and have many examples of progression and promotions within the team.
We are recruiting a Cyber Security Infrastructure Engineer to join our expanding Cyber Security team. If you are looking for the next step in your information security career, this role could be for you.
As the Cyber Security Infrastructure Engineer, you will be a member of the Information Security Team and responsible for actively implementing new cyber security controls into the University's infrastructure; acting as the main contact with our third-party SOC supplier; investigating and reporting on attempted and actual breaches; compiling reports and data for incidents as they occur and throughout the incident management process. The role is key in enhancing security measures, improving performance and ensuring end-user satisfaction within Arden University's IT Infrastructure.
The Cyber Security Infrastructure Engineer will also be part of our on-call IT Engineers rota on a 1:6 on-call basis. Please do not apply if you are not able to commit to this.
To be a good fit for this role, you will have:
- Significant practical experience in applying cyber security protection and detection technologies.
- Significant hands-on experience in monitoring, managing and updating MS Sentinel, MS Defender and working with SOC engineers and third-parties.
- Strong IT skills and knowledge including hardware, software, networking infrastructure and cloud services.
- Significant work experience with incident detection, incident response and forensics.
- Expert knowledge of technical aspects of security architecture, operation and management of security tools and systems; applying current and emerging technologies to meet operational needs; security protocols and principles; security systems including anti-virus, content filtering, authentication systems, and device encryption; security technologies related to Firewalls, Endpoint Protection (EDR, XDR), DNS, VPN, MFA, DDOS mitigation technologies, and networking wired/wireless technologies (e.g., Cisco Meraki).
- Recognised information security certification (e.g., CISSP, Microsoft Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200), Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100)).
- Experience of Azure IaaS, Logic Apps, Playbooks and Runbooks.
