Our School of Psychology, part of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Technology, is committed to providing high-quality, applied psychology education. Our diverse academic team includes experienced academics, practitioners, and industry professionals, all focused on preparing students with discipline knowledge and practical skills for real-world careers.

About the Opportunity:

We are looking for aLecturer in Psychology to join our Manchester Campus. In this role you will be required to contribute to the development and delivery of our programmes. You will:

  • Deliver excellent teaching and learning to our students.
  • Lead and develop modules, ensuring high-quality learning materials and curriculum development.
  • Design excellent digital teaching material ensuring that content and methods of delivery meet defined learning objectives.
  • Oversee assessment marking, design authentic assessments, and provide high-quality feedback.
  • Manage own teaching activity and reflect on practice and development of skills, with support/guidance as needed.
  • Undertake administrative activities to support teaching and learning activities.
  • Actively contribute to Department level activity.

** you will be campus based for up to 4 days a week to suit the student timetable.

About You:

To be successful as a Lecturer in Psychology you will need:

  • An MSc or equivalent qualification in Psychology, with Graduate Basis for Chartership (GBC) recognised by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • Experience in teaching, learning, and assessment practices in Higher Education.
  • A track record of successfully contributing to programme teams and being an inspiring and creative lecturer.
  • AdvanceHE Recognition (FHEA) or a willingness to achieve it within 12-18 months.
  • We especially encourage applications from those with subject specialisms in mental health, counselling, forensic psychology, qualitative research methods, or cyberpsychology.
