About the Opportunity

Lecturer – Health & Care Foundation Degree (FdSc). Deliver and support teaching across campuses, facilitate coverage and support module development, and may progress to Module Leader.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and dynamic lectures face‑to‑face for blended students.
  • Take on module leadership, ensuring consistent quality and development of learning materials and schemes of work.
  • Oversee assessment marking, create authentic assessments and provide high‑quality feedback.
  • Lead or support creation of new programmes and refresh existing ones to align with industry trends.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide academic advice and support to students.
  • Drive innovation in teaching methods, student support, and assessment.
  • Assist with student orientation weeks (online) and face‑to‑face on campus.
  • Support students with assessments including 1‑1s, group tutorials and scaffolded assessment feedback sessions.
  • Assist students through reminders and monitoring risk of non‑submission via phone calls and tutorials.
  • Work closely to develop assessment and resit clinics.
  • Develop interactive videos, podcasts and activities for VLE and in‑class use.

About You

Experience in engaging students in Health & Care, with knowledge of health and social care management, positive and empathetic approach.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s degree or equivalent professional qualification in Health, Healthcare Management, or Health and Social Care.
  • Recognised HE Teaching Qualification and/or Advance HE Fellowship at FHEA/SFHEA level, or commitment to achieve within 12 months.
  • Evidence of CPD to show commitment to improving knowledge and teaching capability.
