As a Lecturer you will join a team of academics distributed across our UK and Berlin study centres but working collectively to create the best experience for our students. You will be responsible for delivering innovative, industry‑informed teaching, supporting student success, and contributing to curriculum development at postgraduate level. This role operates on a hybrid working arrangement that will require 3/4 days travel into campus. This may fluctuate in line with business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deliver and assess postgraduate modules in Data Science and/or Cyber Security
- Provide high‑quality teaching across Computing programmes using a range of inclusive and engaging pedagogical approaches.
- Supervise student projects and dissertations
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous programme improvement
- Engage with industry to ensure programmes remain current and relevant
- Undertake administrative and academic duties as required
About You
We are looking for candidates who have:
Essential requirements
- A postgraduate qualification or equivalent professional qualifications/certifications in Data Science, Cyber Security, Computing, or a related discipline
- Experience of teaching in higher education or professional training environments
- Strong subject knowledge in areas such as:
- Data Science: machine learning, data analytics, big data technologies, AI
- Cyber Security: network security, ethical hacking, digital forensics, infoSec
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to student‑centred learning and academic excellence
Desirable requirements
- Professional certifications (e.g., CEH, CCNA, AWS, Azure, etc.)
- Industry experience in data science or cyber security
- Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) or willingness to achieve
