This role operates a hybrid working arrangement that will require some travel into one of our 3 London campuses (minimum twice per week but could be more on occasions). This may fluctuate in line with business requirements.

About our Department

The successful candidate will join our growing academic team in the Department of Accounting and Finance to develop and deliver our undergraduate and postgraduate portfolio in Accounting and Finance. We’re equipping our students with an in-depth understanding of modern accounting and finance, including the role and scope of technology in the field in areas such as Fintech and blockchain, as well as gain the skills to make sound investment decisions. Throughout the course, we also give our students the opportunity to put their learning into practice, helping them gain real-world skills they can use in their future careers.

About the Opportunity

This Lecturer in Accounting and Finance will be reporting into our Head of Department for Accounting and Finance. You will:

  • Deliver engaging and dynamic lectures online and onsite.
  • Take on module leadership, ensuring consistent quality and development of learning materials and schemes of work.
  • Oversee assessment marking, create authentic assessments, and provide high-quality feedback.
  • Lead or support the creation of new programmes and refresh existing ones to align with industry trends and employer requirements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide academic advice and support to students.
  • Drive innovation in teaching methods, student support, and assessment techniques.

About You

We are particularly looking for someone who is able to bring to life the latest in industry practice for our students. You will have a sharp focus on all aspects of excellent teaching, learning and student experience and will contribute to the Department's partnership and knowledge exchange activities. You will also provide support to our collaborative partners internationally.

Subject Expertise

Ideally we’re looking for subject expertise in:

  • Taxation
  • Auditing
  • Finance
  • Financial Reporting

Desirable

Applications from candidates with PhD (or close to completing their PhD) or equivalent degree are particularly welcome. Applicants holding full and current membership of a chartered accounting/finance professional body and have an equivalent portfolio of experience working in business are also encouraged.
