About our School: Our School of Psychology has grown significantly over the last few years, and our journey continues. Our academic team brings together extensive experience from academia, professional practice, and industry. Our goal is to equip our students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, ensuring they are fully prepared for employment upon graduation.

About the Opportunity: Arden University is setting up Employer Advisory Boards to help ensure programmes are industry-aligned and responsive to economic and technological change. As a Board member with expertise in sports psychology and/or high-performance environments, you will bring practical, sector-specific insight into how psychological principles are applied to enhance performance, resilience, wellbeing, and decision-making under pressure.

You will help ensure that teaching, learning, and student development reflect how performance psychology is applied in practice across one or more of the below sectors:

  • Professional and elite sport
  • Military, defence, police, and emergency services
  • Aviation and safety-critical environments
  • Finance, trading, and high-risk corporate settings
  • Technology, startups, and innovation-driven organisations
  • Corporate and executive high-performance programmes
  • Esports and digitally mediated performance contexts

This is a collaborative and strategic role that amplifies employer voice - helping to shape direction and ensure students graduate ready to succeed in the modern workforce.

About You: As an Employer Advisory Board member, you bring current, real-world experience from sport or performance-critical environments, including insight into:

  • How psychological science is applied to performance under pressure
  • The skills, behaviours, and mindsets required in high-performance roles
  • Common gaps between graduate capability and employer expectation
  • How roles, tools, and expectations are evolving across performance sectors

You act as a translation layer between industry and academia - helping the School understand what effective performance practice looks like in the real world.
