About the Opportunity:
As our Assistant Librarian (Acquisitions & Systems), you'll play a key role in ensuring Arden University's library services remain accessible, relevant and impactful for our students and academic colleagues. Working within the Library Services team, you'll help manage and develop our digital collections, library systems and learning resources while supporting one of our academic schools as a dedicated subject specialist.
This is a varied role where you'll combine collection management, acquisitions, systems administration, user support and training delivery. You'll collaborate with academic teams to ensure library resources are fully integrated into programmes, support the development of new modules and help maintain high-quality collections that meet the needs of our students and staff.
You'll also contribute to the ongoing development of library services by managing resources and systems, delivering engaging training sessions, creating user guidance and responding to student enquiries. Working closely with colleagues across Academic, Digital Learning, IT and Student Support teams, you'll help deliver an outstanding library experience that enables learners to succeed.
About You:
We're looking for a proactive and customer-focused library professional who is passionate about information services and student success. You'll bring experience of working within a library environment, ideally in higher education, along with a strong understanding of library systems, digital resources and collection management.
You will be highly organised, able to manage competing priorities and confident building effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will be delivering training, creating guidance materials and explaining complex information in a clear and engaging way.
You will have experience of supporting library users, working with bibliographic data and digital information resources, and contributing to projects that improve services and user experience. A degree-level qualification and either a postgraduate qualification in Librarianship or Information Science, or equivalent relevant professional experience, will help you succeed in this role.
