About the Department
The Department of Supply Chain and Project Management sits within the Faculty of Business. The MSc Project Management has been designed to enable digital and blended teaching practices with sound pedagogic principles to deliver learning that meets student needs.
About the Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced academic or industry professional to contribute to the development of future leaders in project management, supply chain management, logistics and operations. You will play a key role in delivering an outstanding student experience through innovative teaching, curriculum development, research, knowledge exchange and academic leadership. Working within a dynamic and supportive department, you will contribute to the continued growth and reputation of our programmes while developing impactful collaborations with industry and professional bodies.
Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for a programme or suite of associated named awards/programmes
- Module leadership of several large, core modules
- Management of School Departmental projects
About You
The ideal candidate has a track record to lead, deliver, develop and monitor postgraduate and undergraduate programmes, ensuring high levels of student outcomes, including operational administration, curriculum development and quality management and enhancement (including accreditation by relevant professional institutions where appropriate).
Essential Requirements:
- A postgraduate qualification in Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management or a closely related discipline.
- A PhD in a relevant subject area, or equivalent professional standing and significant industry experience.
- Experience of teaching in higher education and delivering high-quality student‑centred learning.
- Expertise in project management and/or supply chain management with evidence of current professional or academic engagement.
- Experience of curriculum design, module leadership and assessment development.
- Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to utilise digital technologies and innovative teaching methods to enhance learning.
- Evidence of research, scholarship, consultancy or knowledge exchange activity.
- Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Ability to build effective relationships with students, colleagues and external partners.
Desirable Requirements:
- Fellowship of Advance HE or equivalent professional recognition.
- Experience of programme or course leadership.
- Professional accreditation or membership with relevant professional bodies (e.g. APM, PMI, CIPS, CILT).
- Experience of supervising postgraduate research students.
- Track record of securing research, consultancy or knowledge exchange funding.
- Established links with industry and professional networks.
- Experience of transnational education or working with international student cohorts.
- Postdoctoral research experience.
