Our Centre for Academic Persistence is focused on helping and supporting students through their first-year university journey. We are a large team who are passionate about supporting students realise their potential.

About the Opportunity

  • Coordination of Support Services: The Academic Administrator will oversee the coordination of various support services, including tutoring, mentoring, and academic advising, ensuring students receive timely and effective assistance.
  • Data Management and Analysis: By supporting with data requests and use of Power BI dashboards where necessary to provide student performance data, the administrator will identify trends and areas of concern, allowing for targeted interventions to support at-risk students.
  • Undertake workload planning for the department to ensure all orientations and classes are covered, in collaboration with Academic Resources.
  • Oversee onboarding of new starters within the Centre.
  • Maintain accurate and robust administrative systems to ensure up-to-date information is accessible to those that require it.
  • Use own initiative to identify areas of improvement and enhancement in supporting academic colleagues.

About You

Essential
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Extensive experience of using Microsoft tools for administrative support.
  • Demonstrate you have organised and planned internal and external meetings and events, and be used to dealing with conflicting demands, and working under pressure in an effective and positive manner.
Desirable
  • Experience in the HE sector and knowledge of level 3, Foundation Year, and/or level 4 university programmes would be an advantage.
