This is a key role responsible for the delivery and support of several high-profile eCommerce websites, working for one of the largest full-service digital development agencies in the UK. This person will be responsible for testing all the in-house developed HTML ecommerce sites for mobile, tablet and desktop. The role will also involve testing all client back-office facilities, reporting systems and software, and testing of all tracking systems across all platforms. The role will also help the development team to identify and resolve defects. This company is growing, and they need more people who can help them build exciting journeys and features for their customers.

The Role

You’ll be joining an existing testing team working alongside Front and Backend developers, Product owners and clients to help identify / analyse bugs and performance issues with existing large scale ecommerce websites. Your responsibilities will include performing functional testing across client websites on a range of mobile, tablet and desktop platforms. You will be expected to assist team members to ensure tasks are tested within project deadlines, as well as creating and maintaining documentation of test results for each project. You will report risks and defects accurately and manage them through to successful resolution, as well as reporting progress of the workload and escalating when necessary. There will be an opportunity to assist with the maintenance and further development of automation testing procedures. This would include identifying repeatable test areas and assisting with creating tests using Playwright. Experience of this is not necessary as training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with team to quality assure new functionality and iterative improvement
  • Help develop and document requirements as User Stories
  • Participate in documentation reviews
  • Coordinate with multiple teams to understand requirements and get issues addressed
  • Test the UI to find inconsistencies and issues that are difficult to test automatically
  • Manually test releases against a range of devices / browsers, reporting any defects found

Key Skills/ Knowledge:

  • Experience with manual testing of websites across multiple browsers and devices
  • Experience raising Bugs, producing tests reports with replication steps & associated imagery
  • Experience documenting technical requirements as User Stories
  • Analytical skills which allow you to anticipate a wide range of use cases and user actions
  • An approach to QA which is highly detail-oriented and user-centric
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

Desirable but not essential:

  • .Net Core experience would be a big plus!
  • Experience with regression testing reporting suite e.g. Jira
  • Experience with representing the testing function in project planning meetings
  • Automation experience with any modern framework - Jester, Cypress, Playwright, Nightwatch.js, Webdriver.iO
  • Knowledge of Git and version control systems (Github, Gitlab, Bitbucket)
  • Knowledge of Gitlab pipelines or similar job automation software
