Are you an early riser with a head for planning and a knack for problem-solving? Arden Personnel is working exclusively with a successful local manufacturer to recruit a Production Planner to join their busy Supply Chain and Operations team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys the buzz of ensuring things run like clockwork. It’s a hands-on, on-site role that plays a vital part in the daily operations of the production team — helping to ensure the right products go out, at the right time, every time.

What You’ll Be Doing in this Production Planner role:

  • Generating daily and provisional production plans using a planning system, aligning with machine availability and agreed run rates
  • Continuously evaluating forecasts to ensure OTIF (On Time In Full) delivery
  • Collaborating closely with the Commercial team to align production with customer volume fluctuations
  • Pre-planning promotions, product launches, and changes — making sure everything’s in place for success
  • Communicating with Maintenance and Prep teams to guarantee machine and material availability
  • Troubleshooting planning issues, finding solutions quickly with team support
  • Attending and contributing to daily operations meetings
  • Coordinating with Production to ensure correct labour is scheduled based on the day’s needs

Important to Know:

This is a 100% on-site role, working the 5:00am – 1:30pm shift. Planners need to be in ahead of the production day to translate customer orders into same-day production plans — it’s an early start, so please consider whether this suits your lifestyle before applying.

What We’re Looking For In This Production Planner Role:

  • Strong experience using Excel — including formulas like VLOOKUP, IF statements, and ranges (this will be tested)
  • Previous experience in a Planning or Purchasing environment
  • Sharp attention to detail and great organisational skills
  • Confident communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • Someone adaptable, positive, and ready to problem-solve under pressure
  • A strong understanding of production processes and how to optimise them
  • Able to influence and collaborate across teams

Benefits In This Production Planner Role Includes:

  • Life assurance from day one
  • 4% employer pension contributions
  • Retailer discounts
  • Access to a wellbeing platform, including 24/7 GP hotline
