Role Overview
We are recruiting for a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join a finance team on an ongoing temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a keen interest in finance to develop their skills within a fast-paced environment. The role focuses primarily on purchase ledger maintenance and general transactional finance duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Purchase Ledger Management: Processing supplier invoices, filing, reconciling supplier statements, and handling non-AP vouchers.
- Banking & Payments: Creating BACS runs, setting up beneficiaries in the bank system, and processing ad hoc non-AP payments.
- Reconciliations: Performing cash book reconciliations, recording daily cleared bank balances, and general account reconciliations.
- Month-End Support: Assisting with accurate and timely month-end inputs, raising ad hoc journals, and generating MME reports.
- General Administration: Distributing incoming mail, maintaining the franking machine, and supporting the wider team with general duties.
Candidate Profile
- Experience: Preferably some prior finance experience or currently studying towards a finance qualification.
- Education: Educated to GCSE level (Maths and English are essential).
- Skills: Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Attributes: A willingness to learn and grow, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
