Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Teacher of PE to take a role as Head of Year within our strong pastoral team at Arden.
The pastoral team plays a central role in the development and maintenance of the ethos and culture of the school, maintaining high standards and the best in wider student development and support.

Responsibilities
- Lead as Head of Year within the pastoral team, contributing to a safe and encouraging learning environment.
- Teach Physical Education across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, including GCSE PE, BTEC Sport, Health & Social Care, Travel & Tourism and A Level PE (the ability to teach one of these areas is desirable).
- Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and a teaching specialism in PE, with the ability to motivate pupils through inspirational, personalised teaching.
- Contribute to the extensive co-curricular activities run by the PE Department.
- Engage in staff development and participate in ongoing dialogue around teaching and learning pedagogy.
- Support the broader school community with a focus on student development and achievement.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to provide a supportive and effective environment for learning.
Qualifications and Experience
- Pastoral experience is preferred, alongside excellent subject knowledge in Physical Education.
- Teaching specialism in PE; the ability to teach one of GCSE PE, BTEC Sport, Health & Social Care, Travel & Tourism or A Level PE is desirable.
- Ability to motivate pupils and deliver engaging, challenging lessons to a committed student body.
