ARDATEM operates in the energy sector, working on nuclear plants at various stages: studies, operation, and maintenance and also engages with industrial sites in the fuel cycle, thermal power plants, and research centers. ARDATEM UK Pvt Ltd. has started its operations in the United Kingdom to provide engineering consulting services, particularly in the fields of Control and Instrumentation (C&I), safety and electrical engineering.
We are looking for an HVAC Technical Manager to join our team and oversee the execution of the HPC HVAC contracts for the Hinkley Point C (HPC) project. This role involves close technical management with various stakeholders, including the EPR-E team, HVAC system teams, the contractor, and our client NNB.
Main Responsibilities:
- Technically oversee the HVAC equipment contract for the HPC project (HK2721), with a focus on equipment follow-up, working closely with the EPR-E layout and HVAC system teams, the contractor, and NNB.
- Monitor the detailed studies provided by the contractor related to the motor fan design (first priority of the role's activities).
- Monitor the detailed studies provided by the contractor for associated HVAC manufacturing equipment, such as fans, motors, filters, water coils, dampers, including review of drawings, procurement specifications, manufacturing, maintenance, assembly, and testing procedures (second priority of the role's activities).
- Act as the representative of the HVAC contract team in meetings with NNB and the supplier.
- Report on the progress of open technical issues during bi-weekly meetings with the contractor and our client.
- Coordinate and conduct technical assessments of contractor requests such as Non-Conformance Reports, Exemption Requests, and Technical Queries.
- Manage the processing of modifications, tracking progress using performance indicators and generating reports as necessary.
- Manage the issuance of Change Transfer Sheets (CTS) to NNB according to schedule.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering or equivalent L4 or L5 qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in HVAC equipment design engineering, or relevant experience.
- Knowledge and experience in motor fan design (important for the role).
- Knowledge of HVAC system and equipment sizing (AHU, fans, filters, water coils) (important for the role).
- HVAC knowledge of Pressurised Water Reactor (PWR) system design principles.
- Experience working on an EPR project, operating plant, or an industrial site.
- Ability to effectively manage own workload and that of a team to meet deadlines and KPI forecasts.
- Proficiency in English, both written and oral, with clear and accurate communication skills.
- Proactive and confident in communication with others, particularly those in remote offices.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in collaboration with other stakeholders.
- Experience in technical, cost, and schedule management of high-value technical contracts.
- Experience in project configuration management.
Desirable Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
- HVAC knowledge of Pressurised Water Reactor (PWR) system design principles.
- Knowledge of nuclear safety classification.
- Experience working on an EPR project, operating plant, or an industrial site.
