We're recruiting on behalf of a leading commercial property consultancy who are looking for an experienced Building/Facilities Manager to take responsibility of the day-to-day operational management of three commercial buildings in Manchester City Centre, totalling approximately 220,000 sq ft, on behalf of a well-known property company. This is a 1 year fixed-term contract, available to start immediately. You'll be a key point of contact for occupiers, contractors and the client, ensuring the portfolio is run to the highest standards of health and safety, compliance, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation, control and monitoring of the service charge budget in line with the client's budgetary agreement and business timescales, and preparing management reports as required.
- Full responsibility for health and safety compliance across the portfolio, including regular audits, fire and evacuation drills, and up-to-date emergency plans and site maps.
- Proactively managing risk and insurance compliance with public and statutory bodies.
- Maintaining a Crisis Management plan, reviewed and tested annually.
- Supporting the compilation of external contracts alongside procurement, in line with company policy.
- Maintaining management information and records including asset registers, emergency plans and plant testing, and liaising with local authorities as required.
- Ensuring the fabric of each building is maintained to a high standard in line with the management contract and agreed budgets, including delivery of the planned maintenance programme.
- Building and maintaining excellent occupier relationships, attending tenant meetings and ensuring the highest standards of service.
- Overseeing contractor performance to ensure standards are achieved and maintained.
- Direct line management of on-site personnel, ensuring appropriate training, and conducting regular performance reviews and annual appraisals.
About You:
- Proven experience in facilities management of a property or portfolio, including line management of staff and contractors, and management of service agreements.
- Strong technical knowledge of premises management.
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good understanding of health and safety legislation and environmental protection requirements.
- IT literate, with experience of industry-specific software.
- Able to work independently and under pressure.
- IOSH qualification required.
- IWFM qualification desirable.
