Role Overview: We are looking for an experienced and driven Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager to lead and embed CI methodology across the Plant, with a strong focus on driving and supporting the ongoing implementation of AMPS. This role plays a pivotal part in delivering operational excellence through structured CI methodology, developing capability across teams and helping drive Plant performance through robust CI tools and processes.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Create, coordinate and execute CI project plans.
- Provide effective leadership, coaching and direction to the CI team while modelling the company's values.
- Engage effectively with Senior Management, shop floor colleagues and CI peers across other Ardagh locations.
- Lead the deployment and ongoing implementation of AMPS across the site.
- Deliver and maintain core CI methodologies including essential tools such as 5S and SMED.
- Analyse operational data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Foster a strong learning and development culture within Engineering and Production to build CI capability.
- Support site-wide CI obligations, including Ardagh Best Practices and the Maturation Matrix.
- Lead and oversee Greenbelt projects.
- Develop, update and enhance standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Drive enhancements in equipment and process capability to support long-term performance improvement.
Skills, knowledge and experience:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Six Sigma Black Belt highly advantageous.
- At least 5 years senior level experience within a unionised, high speed manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of production equipment, KPIs and continuous improvement principles.
- Competent in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills.
Hours of Work: 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Occasional UK and European travel will be required as part of this role.
