Overview

You will receive training, mentoring and development throughout the programme, working closely with Process Leaders, Technicians and Technical Operators.

Responsibilities

  • Attend college as required and successfully complete all elements of the apprenticeship programme
  • Work safely at all times in line with H&S requirements
  • Learn to safely operate manufacturing equipment and machinery
  • Assist with basic fault finding, minor repairs and equipment adjustments as trained
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across the plant
  • Support activities to minimise downtime, spoilage and waste

Year 2 & 3: Integration into the production team, developing practical skills as a Technical Operator while continuing your apprenticeship qualifications (BTEC year 2 & NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Engineering), day release at college, 5 GCSE's at Grade 4 or C or above in Maths, English, Science plus two subjects.

Qualifications

  • Good written and verbal English
  • A strong interest in engineering or manufacturing
  • Commitment to completing a 3-year apprenticeship programme
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • A team player with good attention to detail

Working hours

  • Year 1: Monday to Friday (hours to align with Coleg Cambria academic timetable)
  • Year 2 & 3: 12 hour shifts - 4 on / 4 off (2 days / 2 nights)
