Responsibilities
- Comply with Company Health and Safety Procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and those around you
- Follow the departments working procedures and practices
- Repair damaged and worn mould equipment to a high standard using various engineering techniques such as spray welding, polishing, grinding, filing and machining
- Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure the repaired equipment meet the required specification
- Modify mould equipment to maintain quality standards.
- Carry out checks on mould equipment using visual and precision measuring techniques to ensure that specifications are complied with
- Record daily work carried out on job sheets to provide an accurate reference point
- Monitor housekeeping in accordance with Company Hygiene Rules
Qualifications
- Time served apprenticeship with a formal engineering qualification
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Good knowledge of bench fitting techniques such as, drilling, filing, polishing and grinding etc
- Have a flexible working approach
- Experience with working with metals, such as Steel, Cast Iron and Nickle
- Be able to read and understand engineering drawings
- Competent with the use of precision measuring equipment – such as micrometres
- Competent with the use of hand tools – such as air tools, files and grinders
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- CNC turning experience desirable
- Manual machine work (lathes/millers) desirable
- Good attitude towards teamwork and learning

- Salary based on Grade 6 of the harmonised pay scales. Salary min £34,517 – £38,562 max. (dependant on shift)
