Responsibilities
- Comply with company health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment using OTPA, Risk Assessment and Bsafe systems to record results. Carry out housekeeping to accordance with company hygiene rules & 5s.
- Planning and organisation of workload for small fabrication team
- Fabricate and make mechanical adjustments to factory equipment and services, in order to maintain efficient operations.
- Identify and repair faults with factory services and equipment in order to minimise down time.
- Provide a service to other Departments that require welding/fabrication expertise.
- Assist when required in maintaining and establishing efficient mechanical and technical operations during normal working hours & outside such hours in event of breakdown etc.
- Operate forklift truck/MEWPs to move equipment in and around plant and access various plant areas if required would be an advantage.
- Carry out fabrication, installation and modification projects to maintain efficient operations of factory equipment and services.
- Communicate with colleagues, supervision and liaise with other departments to maintain efficient operations.
- Understanding process control systems across all plant equipment
- IT skills incorporating SAP systems for job planning and maintenance schedules
Qualifications
- Time served fully qualified Mechanical Engineer
- Good working understanding of welding and fabrication principles
- Understanding of technical drawings. Understanding of control systems and operation of: Utility services, Batch plant, Furnace & forehearth, Forming, Lehr
- Understanding of factory service operation.
- Air/Water/Vacuum
- Ability to drive forklift truck
