Senior Delegated Operations Manager

Arcus Search are proud to support a global London Market (re)insurance firm, on searching for an experienced, proactive and confident Senior Delegated Operations Manager with Operational Management experience in the Insurance industry.

This is a newly created role sitting with the UK COO function of this business. You will be supporting the London-based Delegated Authority team, undertaking a wide array of transformation activities, broadening and better controlling the existing services provided. You will take full ownership of everything Delegated Operations and play a key part in further strengthening the operational resilience of the function.

What you\’ll do:

Service Management:

• Manage a team of DU Analysts that do the Bordereaux Mapping and Management, as well as chasing Bordereaux from Coverholders
• Report to Board, the Delegated Underwriting Group and Product Oversight for Solvency II
• Review new Delegated opportunities from an Operational stance
• Manage budgets and expenses related to delegated operations

Team Leadership, Performance Monitoring and Training:

• Monitor performance, support and train the delegated team
• Make recruitment-related decisions
• Measure and evaluate Operational performance
• Train employees on processes, controls and effective reporting

Process Improvement:

• Define a Process Improvement framework and own this
• Drive continuous improvement of delegated operations processes – enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement
• Ensure process comply with regulatory requirements
• Monitor risk management practices and mitigate operational risk
• Trend analysis

What experience you\’ll bring:

• Extensive experience in Delegated Operations
• Insurance-related qualifications (e.g. ACII) – highly desirable
• Hands-on, confident team leader and ability to develop talent in the team
• A proven track record of process and operational management
• Excellent communication skills and a proven track record being influential amongst stakeholders
• Working knowledge of Delegated Authority systems (e.g. BinderCloud)
