Help teams ship secure software — not just talk about it. We’re looking for a Security Engineer who enjoys working deep inside real systems, partnering closely with product and platform teams to turn security findings into robust, production-ready security solutions. This is specifically a role for a Security Engineer with a strong Software Engineering foundation / background. Our client is an IP generating company that creates trading strategies worth $millions. Security is at the heart of everything they do and is the most important pillar in their Technology business.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Work side-by-side with peer engineering teams to design and implement security improvements.
  • Design and engineer large business critical systems, contributing through code rather than advice alone.
  • Develop clean, maintainable solutions that strengthen security while respecting performance and reliability constraints.
  • Take ownership of security initiatives from root-cause analysis through release and validation.
  • Make sure changes are well tested, clearly understood, and safely rolled out.
  • Spot trends and recurring vulnerabilities, helping drive longer-term improvements across systems.
  • Partner with senior engineers to make sound technical decisions through discussion, evidence, and iteration.
  • Explain risks, options, and trade-offs clearly to both technical teams and wider stakeholders.
  • Set a strong example of practical, delivery-oriented security engineering.

What we’re looking for:

We’re interested in engineers with strong security foundations who enjoy collaborating with other technical specialists and delivering real outcomes in production systems. You’ll likely have:

  • Extensive experience building and maintaining production software in complex environments – Python, Go, Rust, C++ etc.
  • A solid grasp of application and infrastructure security, including how things typically fail in the real world.
  • The ability to ramp up quickly on new platforms, languages, and architectures.
  • Hands-on experience remediating security issues in live systems, not just identifying them.
  • Strong technical judgement, with the ability to balance risk, delivery timelines, performance, and stability.
  • Confidence working alongside other experienced engineers, influencing decisions through clear reasoning and implementation.
  • Clear, concise communication and a collaborative, pragmatic approach.
