The Role
We’re looking for a Data Manager to take ownership of the consistency, quality, governance and evolution of asset and operational data across our Santander account. This is a key role at the heart of our facilities management operation, ensuring that data within our systems is accurate, structured and trusted. You’ll enable high‑quality reporting, insight generation and informed decision‑making, supporting both day‑to‑day operations and long‑term strategic planning.
Responsibilities
- Data consistency & governance
- Own data quality and integrity across systems, with particular focus on Ostara CMMS
- Implement and maintain robust data governance, validation and change control processes
- Ensure data standards support both operational delivery and reporting requirements
- Asset & workflow data management
- Work closely with Asset Managers and CAD Planners to build and maintain clear asset hierarchies, classifications and location structures
- Identify critical data points within engineering and FM workflows and ensure they are captured consistently
- Asset collection & validation
- Lead the use and optimisation of asset data collection tools
- Support engineering teams and supply chain partners to capture accurate data during mobilisation and through the asset lifecycle
- Operational workflow mapping
- Understand and document operational workflows to identify data touchpoints
- Embed data capture into processes to support performance management and insight
- Collaboration & insight
- Work with the Arcus Data and MI Centre of Excellence to align with best practice and future developments
- Support the Business Reporting Analyst in producing reports and dashboards using Power BI
- Provide data‑driven insight and problem‑solving support to operational teams
Requirements
Essential experience and Skills
- Strong understanding of facilities management and engineering asset data
- Experience working with CMMS platforms (ideally Ostara) and asset management systems
- Proven capability building and managing data taxonomies and asset hierarchies
- Solid experience in data validation, governance and change control
- Ability to translate operational workflows into clear data requirements
- Experience supporting reporting and analytics using tools such as Power BI, SQL, DAX or PowerQuery
- Excellent attention to detail, with a proactive and analytical approach
- Strong communication skills, able to work effectively across technical and operational teams
Desirable
- Familiarity with SFG20 standards
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and structured datasets
