Are you passionate about environmental compliance, sustainability, and driving real change within an organisation? We\’re looking for a proactive Risk & Sustainability Advisor to join our Governance, Sustainability & Risk team and play a vital role in delivering our HSQE Strategy—with a strong focus on risk, sustainability awareness, and our journey toward Net Zero.
What You\’ll Be Doing
Reporting to the Head of Governance, Sustainability and Risk, you\’ll provide expert environmental and sustainability advice, coaching, and implementation of improvement initiatives.
Champion our Net Zero Pathway and SFMI journey across the business.
Provide expert environmental and sustainability advice, coaching, and implementation of improvement initiatives.
Maintain and monitor compliance obligations, documentation, and processes in line with ISO 14001:2015.
Manage and improve waste and energy compliance, including ESOS and SECR reporting.
Support environmental audits and investigations across all operations.
Collaborate with stakeholders, suppliers, regulatory bodies, and clients to enhance sustainability performance.
Deliver campaigns, toolbox talks, and awareness material to embed sustainability into daily operations.
Track, analyse and report on environmental performance, identifying opportunities to improve.
Contribute to sustainability reporting and business continuity development.
What We\’re Looking ForQualifications (Desirable):
IEMA Practitioner Member (or higher).
NEBOSH or IEMA Environmental/Sustainability Diploma.
A science/environment-related degree.
Experience & Knowledge:
Hands‐on experience in sustainability reporting, carbon accounting, or energy efficiency.
Solid understanding of environmental regulations across the UK.
Familiarity with ISO 14001:2015, waste/water compliance, and circular economy principles.
Knowledge of Sustainability Reporting Frameworks such as GRI.
Graduate applicants will be considered, depending on academic experience.
Skills:
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing abilities.
Highly organised, self‐motivated and able to manage multiple priorities.
Strong time management and project coordination skills.
Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
