Are you a Senior Refrigeration Engineer, looking for your next step into a Managing Engineer role? If so we have an opportunity for you. You will reside within the Croydon and South East London or the surrounding areas and have proven supermarket refrigeration experience.

At a Glance:
- Salary: ÂŁ55,988 per annum
- Up to 4% discretionary bonus scheme, subject to achievement of targets
- Overtime paid at time and a half

You will have responsibility for a team of Refrigeration Engineers to ensure that planned and reactive maintenance tasks are completed on-time and to budget. You will also be responsible for the call-out rota and ensure adequate and safe cover at all times.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Supervise the team, being their daily point of contact, provide management support, guidance, training and development to colleagues to achieve a consistent and high level of customer service
- Provide technical support and training to your team of Refrigeration Engineers
- Control staffing on a day to day basis including management of an "on-call" rota
- Assist Area Support Manager with relevant HR processes including: completion of return to work forms; handling and reporting disciplinary incidents, holding performance review meetings and managing performance on a day to day basis for under-performing colleagues, scheduling holiday and absence cover, investigate, record and upscale any accidents or nearâmisses as directed by the Health & Safety Policy
- Provide technical support as required, e.g. advice regarding major operational issues and provide assistance for major incidents
- Assist the team in delivering high quality PPM work
- Work with Area Support Manager to deal with and make safe all Health & Safety related issues in own area and that of engineers, report and escalation as necessary, including any matters relating to PPE
- Assist Area Support Manager with effective budgetary management of parts and material usage, reporting overspend and variances to budget
- Attend client and manager meetings on behalf of the business within your region
Youâll enjoy working autonomously in a pressurised environment and be able to prioritise a complex and demanding workload. Youâll have excellent written and verbal communications skills, enabling you to communicate all operational issues within your region. Youâll be customer service driven and enjoy working within a people focused environment.
What We're Looking For:
- Full UK driving license is essential
- City & Guilds qualified in Refrigeration (or equivalent), including F-Gas
- 18th Edition (desirable but not essential)
- Minimum 5 years post qualification experience, working on a mobile basis in chosen field
- Demonstrable management/supervisory experience (desirable)
- Must have experience in an FM environment and have Refrigeration Engineering experience within Supermarkets.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to influence and use diplomacy with clients and colleagues
- Ability to supervise engineers in a pressurised environment dealing with store teams and members of the public
- Capable of prioritising a complex and demanding workload

As our clients predominantly operate on a 24/7 basis, there is a requirement to be flexible with your working hours to protect customer service levels and provide continuity of service, including weekend working and onâcall cover. (1 in 4 Saturdays, 1 in 4 weeks on call - included within the salary for this vacancy.
