At Arcus FM, we\’re on the lookout for a dedicated Minor Works Technician to join our growing Field Operations team. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of varied minor works projects, working across Nottingham & the surrounding areas.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive Salary – £39,135 per annum
- Company van and fuel card – with personal use available from day one
- Door-to-door pay – earn from the moment you leave home
- 25 days annual leave – plus bank holidays
- Enhanced overtime rates for additional earnings
- Annual bonus (up to 4%) – subject to performance (historically paid out)
In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for scoping, quoting, and delivering additional contract works—ensuring each project is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. You\’ll build strong client relationships, identify future opportunities, and play a key role in the delivery of high-quality building and repair works.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a range of minor works projects, including:
- Groundworks, civils, drainage, and tarmacking
- Painting, decorating, plastering, and carpentry
- Bricklaying, fencing, plumbing, and roof repairs
- Secure and quote for extra contract work, ensuring profitability and cost-effectiveness
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations
- Work independently or as part of a team to meet tight deadlines and client expectations
What We\’re Looking For
- Solid understanding of general construction principles
- Proven experience across multiple trades (e.g. plastering, plumbing, carpentry, bricklaying)
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Recognised NVQ or equivalent qualification in a trade discipline (Desirable)
Working Pattern
- 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Occasional out-of-hours work (paid at overtime rates)
