About the Role

The Store Manager leads a team that delivers best-in-class guest experiences, building connections and committing to bold objectives both in the store and in the community. The role oversees all aspects of retail store operations and leads the strategy and development of people and communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team in alignment with Arc’teryx Vision, Purpose, and Values.
  • Oversee all five pillars of the business (experience, product, community, operations, and people).
  • Train and coach a high-performing team using the Arc’teryx Guest Journey.
  • Lead from the floor 80% of the week to champion exceptional guest experiences.
  • Manage the employee lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding (hiring, training, development, performance management, termination).
  • Run a profitable store by achieving sales targets and controlling labor and expenses.
  • Own hours management and scheduling, balancing guest and employee experiences.
  • Build community partnerships to identify brand ambassadors and increase brand awareness.
  • Own product and inventory management, including walkthroughs, visual merchandising, and sell-through.
  • Strategically plan store budget and labor hours using company tools and take full accountability for results.
  • Conduct weekly leadership meetings to update on brand initiatives and key business areas.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of leadership and retail management experience.
  • Dynamic leadership skills: recruit, hire, train, motivate, retain, and develop future leaders.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a continuous drive for results.
  • Passion for service and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Financial acumen: budgeting, forecasting sales, gross margin, expense control, and net profit.
  • Ability to set a clear vision, align the team, and foster commitment.
  • Strong problem‑solving mindset and dedication to doing what is right.
  • Passion for outdoor life and living it.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and ability to prioritize.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Expectations

  • Align employee availability with business needs; schedules may include varied shift times.
  • Be available for peak periods such as Black Friday and the holiday season.
  • Oversee execution of all Store Manager deliverables, including responsibilities of Product Guide, Lead and Assistant Store Manager as needed.

Compensation & Details

  • Salary range: CAD$83,500 – CAD$104,500.
  • Hours: Full Time – 40 hours per week (five days a week).
  • Compensation: Salaried.
