Arconic is currently in search of two Industrial Placement Students to join our Kitts Green Team based in Birmingham. Responsibilities:
- Preparing and polishing microstructural samples and operating a microscope;
- Perform laboratory testing of hot mill emulsion;
- Facilitate process quality checks, on all areas of the shopfloor;
- Investigating process issues, rejections and returned customer samples;
- Provide support to assist other members of the department running trials;
- Monitor key process variables.
Qualifications:
- The job holder will be an undergraduate undertaking a HND/degree in a relevant metallurgical/engineering discipline.
- It is likely that the job holder will have basic metallurgical and/or processing knowledge however is unlikely to have significant industrial experience.
- The job holder will be required to rapidly become fully conversant with Arconic’s HSE requirements.
- The job holder will have good problem-solving skills (including general knowledge of statistical techniques) predominantly developed through formal training.
- The job holder will be computer literate and familiar with widely used commercial software (such as Excel, Powerpoint and Word).

Kitts Green is situated in the heart of Birmingham and approximately a 10-minute drive from Birmingham International Airport. The location also has good transport links to the M42/M6 motorway and Lea Hall train station is a 10-minute walk offering regular trains to Birmingham City Centre. Our Plant is a forward looking manufacturing facility with a long tradition of inclusion, teamwork and community action.
