Arcona Group are seeking a high-caliber Project Engineer for a major £150m commercial redevelopment project located in a high-profile, logistically challenging area of Central London.
This is for a leading UK Structures Contractor.
The successful Project Engineer will have a proven track record as a lead engineer on similar projects including new RC structures and Demolition of existing structures.
Project Scope & Core Responsibilities
The project is a £100m + high-spec commercial and office redevelopment scheme in Central London.
It involves intricate structural modifications, major concrete frame packages, and technically demanding substructure works.
You will lead a team of 5, managing strict inner-city site constraints, zero-compromise boundary constraints, and proximity to sensitive, historic structures.
- Support project delivery across structural, civil and concrete works, ensuring activities progress in line with programme requirements.
- Coordinate technical information, reviewing drawings, specifications and temporary works designs to ensure accuracy before works commence.
- Manage quality assurance documentation, completing ITPs, check sheets, cube logs, pour records and ensuring compliance with project standards.
- Liaise with subcontractors, ensuring they understand technical requirements, sequencing, access arrangements and safety expectations.
- Monitor progress on site, reporting daily activities, identifying delays, and supporting the team in maintaining programme targets.
- Support procurement activities, preparing material take‑offs, coordinating deliveries and ensuring correct materials are available for upcoming works.
- Contribute to health and safety compliance, carrying out inspections, supporting RAMS reviews and ensuring safe working practices are followed.
- Assist with temporary works coordination, ensuring designs are approved, inspections are completed and systems are installed correctly.
- Provide technical support to site management, helping resolve engineering queries, design clashes and buildability issues as they arise.
