A leading specialist contractor in the construction and fire protection sector is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee the delivery of fire door installation and passive fire protection projects across a range of projects. This is a hands-on, client-facing role where you will lead contracts from mobilisation through to completion, ensuring all works meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and safety. You’ll play a key role in driving best practice in fire door compliance, working with industry-recognised standards including BM TRADA certification and digital compliance systems such as One Trace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple fire door installation and passive fire protection contracts end-to-end
  • Ensure all installations comply with BM TRADA, FIRAS, and relevant fire safety regulations
  • Oversee and maintain digital QA and compliance records using One Trace software
  • Drive compliance with Approved Document B, Building Safety Act, and CDM Regulations
  • Review and manage:
    • RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements)
    • ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans)
    • Quality assurance documentation
  • Carry out regular site inspections and audits of fire door installations
  • Provide technical guidance and training to site teams on fire stopping and fire door compliance
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring expectations are met and exceeded
  • Work closely with commercial teams, surveyors, and operational delivery teams
  • Monitor programme performance, costs, and quality standards
  • Support business growth through client relationships and project delivery excellence

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience (5+ years) managing fire door installations or passive fire protection contracts
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Fire door compliance and installation standards
    • BM TRADA / FIRAS certification requirements
    • Building Regulations (Approved Document B)
  • Practical experience using One Trace or similar compliance management software
  • Relevant qualifications (NVQ Level 6/7, HNC/HND, or Degree in Construction or related field)
  • CSCS Card and Full UK Driving Licence
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive approach with a focus on right-first-time delivery

Desirable:

  • IFE Level 2/3 in Passive Fire Protection
  • Experience auditing or managing third-party accredited fire door schemes
