- Building Services Manager with a strong
Mechanical background to join a Tier 1 Contractors Building Services team.
The Role
You will work across three high–profile education projects across in the South London / South M25 Area.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering technically challenging, high–quality school and educational facilities from pre–construction through to commissioning and handover.
You will lead the coordination, installation and delivery of all building services, with a particular focus on mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) building services throughout the construction lifecycle, with a primary focus on mechanical installations.
- Review design information, specifications and technical submissions to ensure buildability, compliance and quality.
- Coordinate subcontractors, consultants and client representatives to achieve programme milestones.
- Monitor installation progress, identify risks and implement effective solutions to maintain programme.
- Lead commissioning activities, witnessing testing and ensuring successful system integration.
- Manage quality assurance processes, inspections and snagging through to practical completion.
- Ensure statutory compliance and adherence to Building Regulations, HTM/CIBSE guidance where applicable, and project specifications.
- Support procurement activities by reviewing subcontractor proposals and technical submissions.
- Drive health, safety and environmental standards across all M&E activities.
- Produce regular progress reports and attend client and project meetings.
About You
You will have extensive experience delivering mechanical building services on large construction projects and be confident managing multiple stakeholders in a fast–paced environment.
Essential
- Strong mechanical engineering background.
- Experience as a Building Services Manager, MEP Manager or Mechanical Project Manager on main contractor projects.
- Proven delivery of education projects
- Excellent knowledge of HVAC, public health, BMS and associated building services systems.
- Strong understanding of commissioning, testing and handover processes.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and coordination models.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable
- HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- Knowledge of BIM coordination processes.
- Experience delivering projects under JCT contracts.
- Temporary Works or First Aid qualifications.
