As a Forklift Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of building materials in our yard and warehouse. Your role is key to ensuring our customers receive prompt and accurate deliveries and collections, while maintaining high standards of health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a forklift (counterbalance) to load, unload, and move stock.
- Safely handle and store building materials such as timber, bricks, cement and plasterboard.
- Ensure all products are correctly picked and prepared for delivery or customer collection.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and organized yard and warehouse.
- Carry out daily forklift checks and report any issues or defects.
- Assist with general yard duties including manual handling, stock checks and maintenance.
- Provide excellent customer service to both trade and retail customers.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations and company procedures.
Skills & Qualifications Required:
- Valid forklift license (counterbalance and/or reach truck).
- Previous experience in a builders merchant.
- Strong awareness of health and safety practices.
- Good physical fitness and ability to lift heavy materials.
- Positive attitude and team player.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of building materials.
Salary: up to £31,000
Hours: Mon - Fri 07:00 - 17:00 & alternate Saturdays - 07:00 - 12:00
