Where You’ll Work

You’ll be based within the Richard Burbidge side of Archwood Group at our Chirk office.

Time away from the workplace may be required for college attendance or apprenticeship activity.

The Role

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and reliable apprentice to join our Customer Service team.

This is a blended development role, starting in customer service and business administration with a structured opportunity to progress towards sales in the future.

You’ll work Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm, with time allowed for college attendance or assessor visits as required.

Pay will be at National Minimum Wage rate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn Richard Burbidge products, systems and business processes through structured training.
  • Support customers by telephone and email under the guidance of experienced colleagues.
  • Help process customer orders accurately and maintain clear records.
  • Assist with queries relating to products, prices, orders and deliveries.
  • Develop confidence using Microsoft 365, order-processing systems and CRM tools.
  • Attend college sessions and participate in assessor visits as required for the Level 2 Customer Service and Business Administration programme.
  • Build the product, customer service and commercial knowledge needed to progress towards sales.
  • What We’re Looking For

You don’t need previous experience — we’re looking for the right attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn. You should have:

  • A strong willingness to learn, develop new skills and ask questions.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic and professional approach.
  • Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office, email and internet use.
  • Good attention to detail, organisation and time management.
  • A reliable and punctual approach.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • GCSEs or equivalent in English and maths are preferred, subject to apprenticeship requirements.

Desirable

  • Previous work experience, volunteering or involvement in school projects.
  • Any customer-facing experience.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications.
  • An interest in customer service, business and sales.
