  • To supervise students during thelunch period in dining environments, playground areas and school premises,ensuring the safety, welfare, physical and mental well-being of pupils and themaintenance of good order and discipline.
  • To monitor the behaviour of students,encouraging positive behaviour and reporting any incidents to the OfficeManager as appropriate.
  • To ensure the safety and well-beingof children, providing support where necessary or signposting concerns tocolleagues.
  • To arrange and supervise appropriateplay and physical activities under the direction of the Office Manager.
  • To encourage all pupils to eat butespecially those with special needs or disabilities, and to assist childrenwith cutting up food, opening tubs, pouring water etc. where appropriate toe.g. age of child, needs of child, as necessary.
  • To encourage social skills and goodtable manners, ensuring safety with knives and forks.
  • To clean up spillages of food and toorganise clearing cutlery and crockery off tables.
  • Where appropriate, to collectstudents from classroom ensuring that they are adequately dressed for theweather conditions.
  • To supervise and control entrance andexit by students during the lunch break to school premises and ensure calmorderly conduct in accordance with the school’s expectations.
  • To liaise with the academy’s CateringServices over the collection of meals and the return and cleaning of cateringresources at the end of lunch.
  • Provides first aid assistance tostaff, students and visitors as and when necessary.
  • To ensure that all students whosuffer any injury or accident are dealt with appropriately in accordance withthe school’s agreed procedures.
