As a Teaching Assistant at Bluecoat Aspley, you will have the opportunity to embody the Academy’s ‘courageously inclusive’ ethos. The department supports one of the widest ranges of students within the city allowing staff the unique opportunity to develop skills across subjects, SEND needs and a variety of provisions. You will work as an inclusion champion ensuring that students are able to access the academic, social and well-being provision on offer at the Academy. The Academy has an outstanding reputation for SEND provision in the City amongst parents and professionals.
This role is specifically to support a Year 7 student with an EHCP. The TA needs to be trained in ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis) and must have experience of working with the UK ABA Autism Education Competence framework. As well as supporting the student in class, the ABA TA will need to complete all necessary ABA admin (resource making, data analysis, attending meetings, handovers and parent liaison). The ABA TA will be supervised by an experienced Board-certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA), and the appointed TA will need to liaise and work collaboratively with the BCBA for report writing, annual reviews and attendance at multi-disciplinary meetings as well as undertaking assessment of the student according to ABA principles.
Level 2 TAs work closely with both the SENCo and deputy SENCo.
