Due to internal growth, we’re adding a talented Indirect Buyer to our regional Procurement team. This person will be based in either Charlotte, NC, or Martin, SC.
Duties:
- Support the management of the indirect spend category for North America
- Execute the purchasing strategy:
- Support the execution of overall category strategy and drive results in line with local and global procurement strategy
- Take ownership of purchasing materials and services
- Create purchase orders
- Follow-up with suppliers
- Achieve results using tools such as competitive bidding, negotiation, market analysis, and benchmarking
- Follow internal procedures for spend approval
- Follow-up on supplier related issues based on service levels, PO activities, or projects
- Collaborate and follow-up with internal stakeholders to achieve administrative efficiency and good service level
- Coordinate CAPEX activities with the sites and other stakeholders
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or related
- BBA or MBA is a plus
- At least 7 years’ experience with indirect procurement in a variety of categories
- Proven history of contract management and category expertise
- Experience with SAP MM, Microsoft Office, Access and OneNote
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills
- Experience in continuous improvement or lean six sigma a plus
- Sense of ownership and personal accountability
- Able and willing to operate both strategically and tactically
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
