A busy design studio in North Birmingham is looking to employ the services of an Architectural Technologist, with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role. This role would suit a Technologist looking for their next challenge who wants to work on some forward-thinking commercial projects, mixed use projects and high-end bespoke homes. You will be joining a team of 8 in a young vibrant office.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce comprehensive technical drawings, models, and specifications to a high professional standard.
- Coordinate effectively with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and other disciplines.
- Develop and review detailed design solutions for steel frame and reinforced concrete building structures.
- Provide technical leadership on matters relating to below-ground construction, including foundations, retaining structures, and waterproofing systems.
- Ensure all project information is prepared in accordance with current UK Building Regulations and relevant statutory requirements.
- Support site operations by responding to technical queries and assisting in the resolution of construction-stage issues.
- Contribute to quality assurance processes and adherence to internal technical standards.
Candidate Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years’ professional experience in a similar Architectural Technologist role.
- Demonstrable experience working with steel frame buildings, reinforced concrete structures and below ground construction.
- Strong technical understanding of below-ground construction methodologies.
- Excellent knowledge of current UK Building Regulations and associated guidance.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, or comparable design platforms.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet project deadlines with accuracy and professionalism.
