Blake Architects are looking to appoint a Part 2 Architectural Assistant, or recently qualified architect, to join our team in the Cotswolds, UK.
The successful candidate will be working across all work stages on projects of various scales, from residential schemes for private clients to workplace and education schemes. Many of the projects we work on are conservation led and involve listed buildings.

At the heart of our work is a passion for blending modern and traditional design and creating designs that improve the experience of the building for users. A candidate who shares our interest in rural architecture, materials, the environment and high-quality detail design would be ideal.
We offer a welcoming and nurturing environment and hands-on experience across all stages of work including regular on-site experience. Our small team of six architects and assistants creates an office culture that supports the growth of all members. As well as office-wide CPD, the practice supports in time and finance all members of the team with focussed CPD training desired to improve on individual skills, including the Part 3 course.
We are based in a scenic office on the edge of a village near Cirencester, Stroud and Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. Therefore, access to a car is essential.
About you
The successful candidate will be a motivated and creative Part 2 Assistant with excellent design, drawing and 3D software skills that shares our interest in rural architecture, sustainable design and high-quality detail.
They will be happy to work as part of a team and meaningfully contribute to the design development of projects. They will be able to work as part of a wider professional team, engage professionally with clients and be confident working independently with ambition to learn how to run projects through all stages.

Required skills / experience:
- CAD drawing skills, preferably Vectorworks
- 3D modelling skills
- InDesign and Photoshop
- good understanding of sustainable design and detailing
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- able to work both independently and in a small team
- access to a car is essential due to the rural location of the office
A competitive salary commensurate with experience will be offered. Candidates must be able to prove their eligibility to work permanently in the UK and have fluent written and spoken English.
