Technical Architects | 3+ Years PQE | RIBA Stages 4+ | London Competitive Salary + Discretionary Bonus, Hybrid Working, Enhanced Pension, Christmas Shutdown, Enhanced Parental Leave & More!

Are you the person your team relies on to turn a strong design into a building that works? This multi-award-winning practice is known for high-quality, sustainable architecture, and they are looking for technically minded Architects to lead delivery on some of its most significant projects. People tend to stay here, with an average tenure of around six years, and the practice develops its own people rather than hiring senior staff from outside. If you're ready to step up towards Associate level, there's a real route to get there.

With one of the strongest project pipelines in the market, they need experienced Architects with 3+ years' PQE who are comfortable taking projects from technical design right through to completion on site. It's a great opportunity for someone who loves the detail, enjoys solving complex interfaces and wants to be recognised as a technical lead within a respected studio.

The Role

You'll lead the technical delivery of large-scale projects across RIBA Stages 4+, making sure design intent is carried through into coordinated, buildable construction information. You'll be the technical point of contact for consultants, contractors and specialist subcontractors. You'll also review packages, resolve design and buildability issues, and support the team through construction. At the more senior end, you'll help set technical standards, mentor others and take on the leadership responsibilities that lead to Associate position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical design and delivery across RIBA Stages 4–5, with involvement in late Stage 3 and Stage 6.
  • Produce and coordinate detailed technical packages, including façades, envelope, interiors and fit-out.
  • Coordinate structural, MEP and specialist consultant information, managing interfaces and clash resolution.
  • Review contractor and subcontractor design submissions and shop drawings.
  • Make sure designs comply with Building Regulations, fire strategy and the Building Safety Act.
  • Manage technical deliverables, information release and drawing registers against the programme.
  • Support the team on site, respond to RFIs and resolve technical issues during construction.
  • Mentor junior team members and champion technical quality and best practice across the studio.

Requirements

  • ARB-registered Architect with 3+ years' post-qualification experience.
  • Strong track record delivering technical packages on larger-scale projects through Stages 4–5.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction detailing, materials, façade systems and building technology.
  • Sound understanding of Building Regulations, fire safety and the Building Safety Act.
  • Experience coordinating consultant teams and working with contractors under D&B procurement.
  • Proficient in Revit.
  • Confident communicator with the ambition to grow into a technical leadership role.

Salary & Benefits

  • Competitive salary and a discretionary bonus scheme.
  • Life assurance.
  • 20 days' holiday plus bank holidays, rising by one day each year to a maximum of 25.
  • Christmas shutdown.
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity and shared parental leave.
  • First Friday drinks, summer and winter parties, and sports and social events and more!
