A leading London-based housing developer is seeking a Senior Technical Architect to join their new in-house design team. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality social housing projects, specifically focused on high-rise developments. The successful candidate will have extensive Revit skills, a strong understanding of fire safety regulations (particularly for buildings over 18m), and experience leading a small technical team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical delivery of high-rise social housing developments, focusing on Revit modeling, detailed design, and technical drawings.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of comprehensive drawing packages, ensuring compliance with UK Building Regulations and fire safety regulations for buildings over 18m.
  • Collaborate with planners and consultants to support planning applications, including site constraints, massing studies, and policy analysis.
  • Lead and mentor a small team of junior architects and technologists, ensuring high standards of technical quality.
  • Ensure all designs comply with fire safety regulations (particularly for high-rise projects) and maintain a strong focus on sustainability.
  • Guide the team through RIBA Stages 2–5, ensuring designs meet project goals and regulatory requirements.

About You

  • Experience of UK-based architectural experience, ideally with experience working on high-rise buildings (over 18m) in the social housing sector.
  • ARB registered architect with a comprehensive understanding of UK planning processes and Building Regulations.
  • Expert proficiency in Revit and experience with BIM workflows.
  • Up-to-date and thorough knowledge of fire safety regulations, particularly as they apply to high-rise buildings over 18m.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience leading a small technical team.
  • A detail-oriented, technically proficient individual with experience preparing and reviewing complex architectural and technical documentation.
