We are seeking a Senior Architect with expertise in aviation or large scale infrastructure projects to join our clients team based in Blackfriars, London. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to play a key role in delivering complex aviation projects in the UK and the Middle East, working across all RIBA stages from concept to completion. The role involves project leadership, technical coordination, and client liaison. You will ensure successful delivery of design solutions, manage project documentation, and foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. This position offers a blend of hands-on design work, team leadership, and strategic oversight.

The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of the technical and regulatory aspects of architectural design in the aviation sector. You will lead and manage teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. In addition to your technical acumen, you will liaise closely with clients and external stakeholders to ensure their needs are met while adhering to project objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and deliver aviation projects through all RIBA Plan of Work stages (0-7), ensuring technical accuracy and design excellence.
  • Act as the main point of contact for project work packages, providing leadership and clear direction.
  • Oversee and coordinate multidisciplinary inputs, including structure, MEP services, specialist systems, and interior elements.
  • Prepare and manage project documentation, including planning and building control applications.
  • Ensure compliance with project requirements, legal standards, and client objectives.
  • Manage internal design reviews and ensure the delivery of high-quality, coordinated outputs.
  • Oversee project resources and profit targets, maintaining an audit trail for key decisions and risk management.
  • Support business development efforts by contributing to bids, tenders, and marketing initiatives.
Skills and Experience:
  • Extensive technical knowledge with a proven track record of delivering complex aviation or large scale infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of UK construction methods, building regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in Revit is essential.
  • Site experience, including managing construction phases and resolving on-site challenges.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and client relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, balancing priorities while maintaining quality and deadlines.
  • ARB registration is required.
