You will be working across written, visual and model-based outputs, helping test, explain and refine proposals that will inform stakeholder engagement and public consultation.

About the Practice

The studio is a highly regarded, design-led architecture and urban design practice with a London base and a strong reputation for complex mixed-use, infrastructure, public realm and regeneration work. Its projects often sit at the point where architecture, planning, landscape, movement and city-scale strategy meet. The culture is collaborative and research-led, with an emphasis on clear thinking, strong visual communication and considered design development.

You will join a team working on a major long-term masterplan in North-West England, alongside planning, landscape and wider consultant teams.

The Role

This is a 6-month fixed-term contract for a Part II Architectural Assistant with urban design experience. You will support the update of a strategic regeneration framework, working under a project leader whilst contributing your own judgement, initiative and design thinking.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare report content, diagrams, illustrations and masterplan material for review and consultation
  • Develop block plans, massing studies, parameter plans and illustrative masterplans
  • Produce Revit models, schedules and Excel-based development analysis
  • Test ideas through hand sketching before translating studies into digital outputs
  • Coordinate design information with planning, landscape, architectural and client-side teams

Requirements

  • You have completed MArch, Diploma or equivalent, ideally with up to three years post-Part II experience
  • You have clear urban design or masterplanning experience, preferably on UK-based regeneration or planning-led work
  • You are confident using Revit, Adobe Creative Suite and Excel for design testing, reporting and presentation
  • You have strong written English and can help produce clear, structured planning and consultation material
  • You understand, or are keen to deepen, your knowledge of planning policy, the NPPF and local plan context

What Is On Offer

  • £32,000-£34,000 pro rata, suggested subject to confirmation
  • 6-month fixed-term contract with potential to become permanent if there is a strong mutual fit
  • Exposure to a major live regeneration framework with real planning, consultation and delivery context
  • Close supervision from an experienced project leader, with room for independent thinking
  • A Central London studio environment with experienced architecture, urban design and consultant teams

If you enjoy turning complex planning and masterplanning ideas into clear drawings, models and written narratives, this role will give you meaningful project responsibility from the start.
