A large, internationally focused architecture practice with a strong design culture is seeking a new Head of Communications and PR to join their team in a new role. The studio operates across multiple global locations and brings together diverse perspectives to deliver work that responds to climate, culture and long‑term use. Collaboration is partner‑led, with communications viewed as a strategic function that supports the practice’s reputation, positioning and future direction. The environment is professional, intellectually rigorous and people‑focused, with a strong emphasis on clarity, consistency and long‑term value. Do note this role is based in the office 5 days a week from their Central London studio.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead an integrated communications and PR strategy aligned with business objectives and brand positioning
- Build and maintain senior‑level relationships with journalists, editors and key external stakeholders
- Oversee all press activity, including press releases, media statements, speeches and Q&As
- Prepare senior leadership for media interviews, announcements and public engagements
- Deliver proactive PR campaigns to build profile, thought leadership and share of voice
- Monitor media coverage, public sentiment and emerging issues, providing insight and recommendations
- Lead issues management and crisis communications when required
- Coordinate closely with in‑house creative teams to ensure consistency of messaging and visual identity
- Manage external PR and communications agencies
- Oversee social media channels and lead internal communications across the studio
Requirements:
- Significant senior‑level experience in PR or communications, ideally at least 8+ years with leadership responsibility
- Proven track record delivering high‑profile, multi‑channel communications campaigns
- Strong experience handling sensitive, complex or reputation‑critical communications
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence advising senior stakeholders and working at leadership level
- Strong digital literacy, including social media, analytics and performance measurement tools
- The right to live and work in the UK
