You'll lead workplace projects for major clients, help shape the direction of the team and have a clear path to grow your influence within the business.

Our client has studios around the world and a strong reputation for design quality, technical delivery and creating workplaces people genuinely want to spend time in.

Their workplace team is busy and growing, and they're looking for an Associate to lead projects, own client relationships and help drive the team's design ambition.

The role suits two kinds of people.

One is a Senior Interior Designer who is already working at Associate level and ready for the title.

The other is an experienced Associate on the cusp of Associate Director who wants a practice with the scale and pipeline to get them there.

Either way, you'll work closely with the leadership team and play a visible part in winning work, developing people and growing the workplace offer.

The Role

You'll lead a portfolio of workplace projects from brief to completion.

You'll set the design vision, be the senior point of contact for clients and make sure every scheme is delivered to a high standard.

Beyond your projects, you'll mentor the team, lead on bids and help shape the strategy and future of the workplace team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead workplace projects from briefing and concept through to delivery on site.
  • Set the design direction and maintain design quality across your projects.
  • Own client relationships and grow long-term, repeat business.
  • Lead workplace strategy, space planning and test fits.
  • Oversee the selection of materials, finishes, furniture and lighting.
  • Present confidently to clients, senior stakeholders and at pitches.
  • Lead and manage project teams, consultants and contractors.
  • Mentor and develop designers across the team.
  • Lead bids, fee proposals and new business opportunities.
  • Keep projects on programme, within budget and to a high standard.
  • Contribute to the strategic growth of the workplace team.
  • Degree-qualified Interior Designer working at Senior Interior Designer, Associate or Senior Associate level.
  • A strong track record of leading workplace projects within a UK practice.
  • A portfolio of high-quality, design-led workplace interiors.
  • Experience owning client relationships and presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong technical knowledge of interior construction and detailing.
  • Experience leading teams and mentoring others.
  • Good Revit skills and an understanding of coordinated production.
  • Experience on large-scale or high-profile workplace projects.
  • Experience leading bids, fee proposals or business development.
  • Knowledge of workplace strategy, wellbeing-led design and sustainability standards.
  • Experience with Sketch Up, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite or similar.
  • Ambition to progress to Associate Director.
  • What's on Offer
  • Permanent role.
  • Hybrid and flexible working.
  • Enhanced pension options.
  • Enhanced annual leave.
  • Healthcare, life assurance and income protection.
  • Plus other benefits.
  • A leadership role with a clear route to Associate Director.
  • High-quality workplace projects for major clients.
  • A collaborative, ambitious and supportive team.
