A senior opportunity for an experienced Chartered Architect with a proven background in expert witness services to join a specialist Expert & Advisory Services team. This role focuses on delivering independent expert opinion, forensic analysis and high-quality reporting across complex construction and professional negligence disputes.
The role will involve acting as a lead or supporting expert on disputes across residential, commercial and mixed-use projects. The successful candidate will prepare CPR-compliant reports and provide expert input across litigation, arbitration, adjudication and mediation proceedings.
Key Responsibilities- Act as lead expert or assistant expert in disputes relating to design, construction defects, professional negligence and regulatory compliance
- Prepare independent expert reports compliant with CPR Part 35
- Undertake forensic analysis of design documentation, construction records and site investigations
- Identify causation, liability and technical failings within disputed matters
- Provide expert advice to solicitors, insurers, developers and other stakeholders
- Collaborate with internal and external specialists including fire engineers and façade consultants
- Support business development through client engagement, thought leadership and industry participation
- ARB-registered and RIBA Chartered Architect
- Minimum 10 years’ post-qualification experience
- Demonstrable track record in expert witness work
- Experience preparing reports for formal dispute resolution proceedings
- Strong understanding of Building Regulations, fire safety and CDM
- Excellent written skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly and objectively
- Confidence engaging with legal teams and dispute professionals
